Narragansett People Art Academy
By starting with an exploration of a bird’s wing and how it can be modeled, my design for the art academy roots itself in the context of its sire and nature. Then, it starts to create initial gestural observation of the site in how it connects to the main roads and entrances. It modifies that gesture through a process of fragmentation and pushing its dynamism three dimensionally. It then responds to site questions such as wind direction, light, views, and working with the landscape’s change in Elevation.
The design takes careful consideration of wind direction, sun angle, and views into the water to make sure there is maximum comfort for the different types of spaces including residential dorms, classrooms, studios, dinning center, and library.
